Painter who surpassed the limits (Vishnumangalam Kumar) Joel Biju is a teenager who overcame physical requirements with an extraordinary conscience and gained attention through painting. Sixteen year old Joel is the son of Biju and Deena from Ambalavayal, Wayanad. It was when Joel, who was healthy, was six years old that he started to see the symptoms of muscular disorder. Hands and legs were tired by the age of nine. The body’s mobility is completely lost under the neck. This boy was completely helpless later on. Chandrika teacher who came to teach him from BRC (Block Resource Center) Wayanad Sultan Bathery BRC (Block resource center) who discovered that he has the ability to draw. But it was difficult to draw with a hand that lost mobility. Later painter and social worker KRC ( Ramachandran Thayannur) came from Kasargod and trained Joel to draw a painting by biting a brush in his mouth. Joel demonstrated incredible excellence in drawing. It was three years ago that Chandrika teacher discovered that Joel has the ability to draw a picture. KRC’s expert training brought out the creative painter in him. And then some others came to train Joel. This little painter has drawn more than two thousand pictures in the last 3 years. Joel, who found a place in the Guinness Book of records, has received a few awards.
Participated in about ten echibitions. Joel’s paintings have been displayed in the Art Gallery of Kozhikode. Now he is a plus one student in Meenangadi, is welcoming this disabled young artist in Bangalore on December 3rd. Chitrapradar will also be there.
